The Microsoft Excel Date & Time Function !
DATE Function.
The Excel DATE Function is very useful where you want to get DATE by jointing Year, Month & Day.
Syntax : - DATE(year,month,day) The DATE Function syntax has the following Arguments : - Year : - The Year argument can be one to four digits. Microsoft Excel interpret the year arguments according to the date system you are using . By default Windows use the 1900 date System. Macintosh use the 1904 date system. |
Month :- This is the positive integer represent the Months of the Year from 1 to 12 (January to December)
Day :- This is the positive integer represent the day of the month from 1 to 31.
Remarks :-

DATEDIF Function.
The Excel DATEDIF function helps you to calculates the Age, tenures & difference between two dates. It can show the result as number of Days, Months & Years.
Syntax : -
DATEDIF(date1, date2, Interval) The DATEDIF function syntax has the following arguments : - date1 :- It is the first date and it must have the earliest date between the two date. date2 :- It is the second date and must be the recent or today of the two dates. Interval :- This is the interval type that indicates what you want to view such as [Days, Months & Years]. Interval type must be "D" to view Days, "M" to view Months and "Y" to view Years

DAY Function.
DAY function help to find the day from a particular date or extracts the day of the month from a complete date.
Syntax : -

DATEVALUE Function.
The Excel DATEVALUE function is used to convert a DATE when that store in a text format and return as serial number of the date.
Syntax : -
DATEVALUE(date_text) The DATEVALUE function syntax has the following arguments : - Date_text :- Is the text that represents a date in a Excel date format. For example ["2/23/2010" or "23-Feb-2010" are text strings within the ("") quotation marks that represent dates as text. Or use (')sign before the date to convert into text [e.g '25-Mar-1999] |

DAYS360 Function.
The Microsoft Excel DAYS360 function returns the number of days between
two days based on 360 days (1 year);[twelve 30-day months] This is used in some accounting calculations. You can use this function to help compute payments if your accounting system is based on twelve 30-day months.
Syntax : -
DAYS360(start_date,end_date,method) The DAYS360 function syntax has the following arguments : - Start_date, end_date :- Are the two dates between which you want to know the number of days. Method : - Is a logical value that specifies whether to use the U.S. or European method in the calculation. |
TRUE: You can use this for European accounting systems, FALSE : You can use this for USA accounting systems.
Remarks : -

EDATE Function.
The Microsoft Excel EDATE function is used to calculate a date which is a specific number of months in the future or in the past. Or you can use EDATE function to calculate due dates and maturity dates that fall on the same day of the month from the date of issue.
Syntax : -
EDATE(start_date,months) The EDATE function syntax has the following arguments : - Start_date : - Is a date that represents the start date. Months : - Is the number of months after or before of the start date. And a positive value for months yields a future date and a negative value yields a past date in the function. |
Remarks : -
If the dates are entered as text then the function occur an error.
